Al Mahmud

Al Mahmud (born 1936) is one of the best Bangla poets and writers of Bangladesh. He is considered as one of the best Bengali poets to emerge from the 1950s. He was born in Brahmanbaria District. Mahmud started his career as a journalist. He was recognized as an outstanding poet after the publication of his volume of verse, Lok Lokantor, in 1963. Later books, such as Kaler Kalosh (1966), Sonali Kabin (1966), and Mayabi Porda Dule Otho (1976), established his position as one of the most prominent poets of the country.

Arunabh Sarkar

Arunabh Sarkar is a Bangladeshi Poet, Columnist, Literary Editor & a Freedom Fighter.Born at Tangail, Bangladesh. He received the Bangla Academy Award, 2009 for Poetry. Bangla Academy Award is the most prestigious and highst Award for Poetry in Bangladesh. Arunabh also received Tangail Sahitya Sangsad Poetry Award for 2007. He has three collection of Poems : "Nagare Baul" , "Keu Kichhui Jane Na" and "Narira Fere Na". Sarkar also edited a Poetry Magazine, Eshika from 1969 to 1985. Poet Arunabh Sarkar has been working as a Journalist for some 40 years in Bangladesh.

Farrukh Ahmed

Farrukh Ahmed (Bengali-ফররুখ আহমেদ) (1918–1974) was a poet and writer of Bangladesh. He was born in the village of Sreepur Upazilla of Magura District.He was the second son of Syed Hatem Ali and Begum Rawshan. He graduated from Khulna Zila School in 1937 and did his IA from Ripon College, Kolkata in 1939. Then enrolled at the prestigious Scottish Church College to study BA (Hons) in Philosophy and English Literature, but was unable to his complete studies.
