Muhammad Qudrat-i-Khuda (Bengali: মুহম্মদ কুদরাত-ই-খুদা) (1900-1977) was born in village Margram of Birbhum District in West Bengal. He was a renowned scientist, educationist and writer. He was awarded the 'Tamgha-i-Pakistan' and 'Sitara-i-Imtiaz' by the Government of Pakistan for his achievements.

Abdullah-Al-Muti Sharfuddin was a famous scientist and science writer of Bangladesh. Muti was born in the village of Fulbari, Sirajganj. He obtained MSc degree (1953) in Physics from the University of Dhaka and MA (1960) and PhD (1962) in Education from the University of Chicago, USA.

Physicist turned plant biologist Jagadish Chandra Bose was born on 30 November 1858 in Mymensingh, India (now in Bangladesh) to a well-to-do family. His father Bhagabanchandra Bose was a Deputy Magistrate. A distinguished student, he began attending St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta in 1875 and received the BA degree from Calcutta University in 1877. In 1880 the twenty-two-year old Bose left India for England. For a year he studied medicine at London University, England, but had to give it up because of his own ill health.

Muhammed Zafar Iqbal (Bengali: মুহম্মদ জাফর ইকবাল) (born December 23, 1952) is a very popular Bangladeshi writer of children’s books and science-fiction and also a well-known columnist. He is a professor of Computer Science at the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, though originally educated as a physicist.

Dr M A Wazed Miah(February 16, 1942 - 09 May 2009) is a nuclear scientist and husband of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He is well known for his simplicity,education,modesty and dignity. He won hearts and minds of people for his selfless life style though he was in the center of power . He is a pioneer nuclear scientist and was Chairman, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission.
